What is it:
Meet the softer side of lash artistry. Borboleta's Brown Lashes are officially here! Meadow Brown Lashes are a light, golden finish that brightens the eye and softens the entire look. Same signature cashmere, faux-mink fibers. Same seamless pick-up and placement. But now with a natural lash-hancement that lets you customize beyond black. Whether you're going full-on monochrome or layering with black for subtle dimension, these lashes blend perfectly with natural lash tones.
How it Works:
The application process for professional eyelash extensions involves several precise steps to ensure safety, comfort, and proper retention.
-
Client Consultation & Preparation:
- Cleanse: The lash artist must thoroughly cleanse the client's eyelid area and natural lashes with a foam cleanser and protein remover wipes to remove all makeup residue, oils, dirt, and dust.
- Isolate lower lashes: Eye patches or tape are applied to the lower lash line to protect the lower lashes and skin, and to keep them out of the way during the application process.
- Prime: A primer is applied to the natural lashes to add moisture and prepare them for optimal adhesion of the extensions.
-
Lash Mapping: The technician creates a "lash map" (a blueprint of desired lengths and curls) to guide the application and achieve the desired style, such as a natural look or a cat-eye.
-
Application:
- Isolate natural lash: Using fine-tipped tweezers, the lash artist isolates a single natural lash.
- Pick up extension: The artist picks up a single cashmere extension (or creates a volume fan with the 0.03 diameter lashes) using a specific fanning or grabbing technique with their tweezers.
- Dip in adhesive: A small amount of professional-grade lash adhesive is applied to the base of the extension; excess should be blotted off if needed.
- Apply extension: The extension is placed onto the isolated natural lash, with a small gap between the extension base and the eyelid skin, to avoid irritation. The "sliding" technique can be used for a seamless blend.
Finishing Touches:
- Check for "stickies": The technician meticulously checks each layer of lashes to ensure no natural lashes are stuck together with the extensions, which can cause discomfort and impact lash health.
- Cure the adhesive: A super bonder is typically applied to instantly cure the glue and maintain flexibility, allowing the client to wet their lashes sooner.
- Remove patches & brush: The under-eye patches are carefully removed and the finished lashes are gently brushed through with a spoolie brush to ensure they are fluffy and well-aligned.
